ABOUT THE ROLE:

Our Hairdressing and Beauty Tutors are leaders. They’re helping to shape the future of New Zealand’s beauty industry. When you join our team of Tutors, you’ll be joining a supportive, collaborative team of industry experts who are proud to be inspiring the next generation of salon professionals.

The work is energizing and meaningful. As you watch your students’ skill, understanding and confidence grow, you’ll have the satisfaction of knowing that you’ve made a profound impact on their lives, and you are contributing to a skilled salon workforce.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

Teaching and learning environment

• Undertake teaching of courses and programmes
• Implement, demonstrate and ensure that best practice is being carried out
• Ensure students are aware of course aims and objectives
• A positive climate that aids learning is enhanced
• Identify student needs and use various strategies as required
• Teaching and learning strategies used are relevant and practical
• Provide students with timely feedback on progress
• Engage in teaching practice self review in an ongoing manner

Internal and external compliance

• Participate in internal and external moderation and Consistency Reviews as required
• Liaise & network with NZQA, HITO, ITEC and industry as required
• Comply with policy requirements

Manage, develop and implement administration systems

• Implement/support systems and strategies that improve quality and efficiency within site in conjunction with Site Manager
• Assist Site leadership in the administrative requirements of the site
• Implement strategies in line with company procedure to manage student retention
• Policies and procedures in site are adhered to
• Participate in the Salon/Spa booking client management system
